What to Pack in a Travel Crochet Kit
Share
Travel crochet works best when the project can be paused quickly and every small tool has a secure place.
Pack the project core
- The exact hook plus one backup if practical.
- Enough yarn for the planned travel time.
- A few locking stitch markers.
- One blunt yarn needle in a closed case.
- A small measuring tape.
- Pattern access and a progress note.
Choose a contained cutter
Pack covered snips or another yarn cutter appropriate to the transport and venue rules that apply. Check current restrictions before travelling; do not assume a tool is permitted because it is small.
Control the yarn
Use a zipped project bag with a smooth interior. Keep the yarn away from open drinks and rough fasteners. A small container can stop an outside-pull ball from rolling.
Select forgiving work
Simple repeats and compact pieces handle interruptions better than a complicated row with many loose components. Add a lifeline-style marker or note before stopping.
Keep this in mind
Pack one self-contained project, protect every sharp item and verify the rules for the journey.
